SETH CANDAN - BIOGRAPHY

If you’ve never heard of a curly-haired fun lovin' kid out of Houston, Texas named Seth Candan, I won’t hold it against you. However, you would be doing yourself a great injustice if you didn’t check him out. Seth can play the guitar, his harmonica, and can belt out tunes with his distinctive voice, just like every other Texas Country singer: what sets him apart is that he writes songs that affect him as a person. His songs bring together his passion for family, friends, love, having a good time, and the great state of Texas.

A lot of people hear his music the first time and ask who he sounds like: they can’t seem to put a finger on it. Seth Candan has a unique sound which seems to fuse rock and country with a slight twang of folk lying just under the surface; the type of music you would get if Blues Traveler, George Jones, and Jack Johnson got together and had a kid in Texas. Seth finds the inspiration for this blend from such artists; CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Lynard Skynyrd, and from the plethora of Texas Country musicians he has the fortune of sharing the stage with today.

Seth finds himself at ease strumming his guitar, singing songs, all the while entertaining his numerous and supportive fans. For the past year Seth has been trying to balance his music, writing songs, and working countless hours in and out of the studio while attending college. Seth also apologizes for how long it has taken to finish the cd, being that it is his first he wanted to make sure he had no regrets and did it all the right way. For those of you who have been waiting anxiously to hear the new stuff as Seth is to give it to you it is finally here you are able to purchase the cd at any of his shows or even at your local Hasting's. If not you can even check out the songs that have been posted on his myspace. Hopefully you enjoy listening to them as much as SCB enjoys playing them for you. When I asked Seth about his upcoming CD, and why he loved to play and sing so much, he said that "God gave me the talent and strength to do what I love at a young age so I ran with it and here I am today." Seth decided to call the Cd, Life, after a song he penned for the CD, which talks about him being in a local bar, starting out his career and a guy spots him and tells him. "Hey, your're good." And the next month he's recording an album - and then after that it's where his life starts.
